About the background: For about 20 years, natural gas in China’s major cities has been given an odor to provide a warning should leakage occur. Recently, the Chinese government published mandatory guidelines on which materials are approved for this process.
Gasodor® S-Free is among these approved odorants. Symrise exhibited at GAS CHINA 2011 to provide information on the product. Symrise also held a seminar along with two other German companies. It was entitled: “German Gas Technology.” Among other things, visitors could learn about the experiences in Germany of using Gasodor® S-Free.
“During the three days at the trade fair, we were able to gain good insight into the Chinese gas market and noticed a great interest in environmentally-friendly warning odors for natural gas. From our perspective, GAS CHINA represents an excellent platform for informing the Chinese gas economy about Symrise’s products,” said Rudolf Weber, Head of Sales Aroma Molecules at Symrise, in summing up his impressions from the trade fair. Qing Guo, Project Manager China Gasodor-S-Free Symrise Holzminden, and Frank Wu, Key Account Manager Aroma Molecules Symrise Shanghai, also share this view. Both have many years of experience with the Chinese gas market.
About GAS & HEATING CHINA 2011
The GAS & HEATING CHINA trade fair takes place every year in the fall. Over 6,000 visitors strolled the halls of specialist exhibitions this year. About 190 exhibitors presented their products and services on the 10,000 sq. meter exhibition space. GAS CHINA 2011 was sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOUHURD) and organized by the China Gas Association (CGA).

2011年11月15日至17日国内外燃气展商汇集成都，Symrise AG德之馨股份公司也在中国国际燃气、供热技术与设备展览会上展示了无硫加臭剂。原因是，为了警示天然气的泄漏，中国城市燃气加臭也走过了近20年，新实施的加臭技术规程对适合燃气加臭使用的加臭剂作了规定，无硫加臭剂成为选择之一。
展会期间，Symrise AG德之馨股份公司与另外两家德国公司联合举办了“德国燃气技术”研讨会，德之馨公司详细介绍了产品无硫加臭剂Gasodor® S-Free以及在德国燃气加臭运营中的使用经验。

此次展会由中国住房和城乡建设部主办、中国城市燃气协会和中国城镇供热协会共同承办，有近190个参展商，展馆面积1万多平方米，6000多人次的访问者。
